Tet Paul Nature Trail St Lucia Trail Overview

What to Expect on the Trail
The Farm – A Living Piece of St Lucian Heritage
The Tet Paul trail runs through a working family farm that has been cultivating the land on this hillside for generations. As you walk, your guide will introduce you to the crops and plants that have sustained St Lucian families for centuries: breadfruit, dasheen, cassava, sweet potato, plantain, coconut palms, and a variety of fruit trees.
This is not just a scenic walk – it is a genuine encounter with St Lucian agricultural heritage. You will learn about how these crops are grown, harvested, and used in traditional cooking. If you are lucky, the farming family may be present, and an interaction with local residents is always one of the highlights guests remember most.
Tropical Flora & Wildlife
The trail passes through areas of tropical secondary forest and hillside scrub where a remarkable variety of plant species can be observed. Your guide will point out and name the plants you encounter, explaining their uses in traditional medicine, cooking, and construction.
Bird watchers will want to have their binoculars ready. The Tet Paul trail is a reliable spot to observe several species native to St Lucia, including the St Lucia warbler, the Lesser Antillean pewee, the bananaquit, and with luck the St Lucia parrot (Amazona versicolor), the island’s national bird and one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful parrots. Your guide will pause at promising spots and listen carefully.
The Pitons Viewpoint – The Unforgettable Moment
The trail culminates at an elevated wooden viewing platform that frames what is arguably the finest view in all of St Lucia: both Pitons – Gros Piton and Petit Piton – rising side by side from the Caribbean Sea, with Soufriere Bay shimmering below and the volcanic landscape stretching around them.
This view is extraordinary on any day. On a clear morning, it is transcendent. The viewpoint allows you to take in the full scale of the Pitons from a unique angle – close enough to appreciate their drama, high enough to see both peaks and the sea beyond them. This is the photograph you will print and frame.
Take your time here. Sit, breathe, look, and appreciate. This is one of those views that makes you understand why Saint Lucia is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
Marigot Bay Viewpoint (if accessible)
Depending on the trail conditions and time available, your guide may take you to a secondary viewpoint looking north towards Marigot Bay one of the Caribbean’s most picturesque natural harbours, nestled in a deep inlet surrounded by dense tropical foliage.

GOOD Based on 15 reviews Posted on Brad ThomasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. How anyone could rate this man under 5 stars is beyond my comprehension. Nigel is the guy and he will help you navigate the local attractions in the area. You can have him plan your whole excursion, or just hire him for driving jobs or info. For example, he was able to connect us with a fish vendor in Choiseul that led us to some of the freshest fish I've ever had. He's the right man for the job.Posted on Mellissa ChinnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nigel was great. Very friendly and went above and beyond. He knew the island well and avoided the traffic when everything was backed up. He has refreshments stocked in the vehicle such as water, and rum and cold beers. He also can arrange any kind of excursion you would want and cater it to your preferences. He knows the best spots to try food and where to get the best views for pictures. Book what you need here, transport from the airport and excursions. You won’t regret.Posted on Paul GeorgeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I rented a car In November, and several times last season when I was anchored below the Pitons. Hotspeed has always been responsive and great service! - will be back in February !!!Posted on Jessica DrakerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nigel truly made our trip to Saint Lucia special. He is such a gem and is so kind and passionate about the island. He told us that his goal was to make us have the best time—and he delivered! He gave us lots of good suggestions of places to see and visit, and always went the extra mile. He would proactively stop at look-outs to show us sights and to take pictures. We never felt rushed through any experience. It was actually immensely comforting having Nigel shepherd us through attractions like the mud baths, waterfalls, etc, as he knew exactly where to go and what to see and do. What really sets Nigel apart is his caring and attentive nature. We really felt like we got to know him on a personal level and he took so much care to tailor our experiences to our interests. For example, upon learning that I love seafood, he took us to a local place in Laborie fishing village for a truly local food experience, and took us to the Choiseul fish market where he got us fresh lobster (a special birthday treat!). We’re fairly certain Nigel knows everyone in the south. He’s got a large network, which is helpful for planning logistics of activities. For example, he organized boat transportation to Anse Chastenet/Anse Mamin from Soufriere on extremely short notice so we could avoid the terrible road portion. Each time we were accompanied by Nigel, people we would meet would tell us how great a guy he is and how lucky we were to have him as our driver and guide—and we definitely felt that way! Don’t hesitate to book him for any of your transport or touring needs. Not only did we find his prices fair and competitive, but you end up with a private tour where everything is tailored to your own preferences and you’re not on anyone else’s schedule but your own!Posted on oneisha mcraeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
